Azam debuted against Zimbabwe in 2015. Since then no stopping for this stylish right-hand batsman. In his short career of span till now Babar Azam is a force to be recognized.

Babar Azam had played some terrific knock in South Africa, a tour of 2018-19. He took the charge of likes modern great Dale Steyn and young sensation Kagiso Rabada.

When Dale Steyn underestimated Babar Azam:

Babar took the charge on Dale Steyn and Kagiso Rabada, especially on Dale Steyn.

“I love the fact that Babar came out and played with an aggressive mindset, I know, I bowled half-volleys in a row to give him that opportunity to get onto that role. I think, I probably underestimated him.” Steyn told Cricket Pakistan.

“He had a couple of great drives, I thought, I would send it wider, but he was able to get on top of that as well.”

Steyn enjoyed the battle between him and Babar and looking forward to facing off for the next time.

“He has now gone on to make a billion runs since then. He used that as the stepping stone because he had taken on a bowler who in his eyes was one of the best. That is awesome. It is nice that there are a cat and mouse thing with everyone.”

“When we face off next time, it is going to be back to zero. The past won’t matter. It’s really nice that he has gone on to be as good as he is.” Steyn told Cricket Pakistan in an interview.

Babar Azam in his short career of a span has a comparison with current Indian Skipper Virat Kohli. It’s like a big achievement for any cricketer to be compared with the modern great King Kohli.

Babar Azam has struck 11 Centuries so far in the ODI format of the game and ranking he is only behind to India’s Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Azam is the only batsman in ICC rankings to features in the top 5 batsmen across all formats of the game.

If Babar Azam keeps continuing to play like this then the sky is the limit for this young player.
