India and Australia both won a game each and with two tests remaining it will be interesting to see that Team India can retain the Border Gavaskar trophy this year or not.
Rohit Sharma last played in the longest format of the game was back in November 2019 when he promoted from middle-order batsman to an opener. After playing the Boxing Day test in 2018, Rohit Sharma flew back to his home country for the birth of his child.
Rohit Sharma made 3 centuries in a hurry in five test matches at home turf. Sharma missed the New Zealand test series and the first two tests of this series due to an injury.
India’s opening woes continued in the first two test matches. Prithvi Shaw showed some poor batting display in the first test match and got replaced by young talented Shubman Gill in the second test match.
Mayank Agarwal’s horror batting display continued in the second test too. He scored a mere 17, 9, 0, 5 in the first four innings of the Border Gavaskar series. Actually Mayank Agarwal away performance is very poor in recent times. In New Zealand, he scored 34, 58, 7, and 3 runs in the two test matches. Mayank Agarwal averaging 7.75 in ongoing test series.
Cricket experts also found some technical problems in Mayank’s batting technique. As of now, he has been rested from the third test he will surely determine to work on his batting problems.

It was really apparent that a fast-bowler going to debut in the Sydney test. Shardul Thakur, Navdeep Saini, and newly added T Natrajan in the squad were in talks for appearing in the third test match of the series.
Keeping experience in mind, Team India decided to go with Navdeep Saini. ‘Yorker King’ T Natrajan will have to wait for his chance to represent his country in the longest format of the game.
