Pakistan Super League (PSL) sixth edition is all set to resume from 1st June after halted by COVID-19 in the month of March.

PSL6 had been postponed on 4th March with immediate effect after 7 novel Coronavirus cases.

“The decision was made after seven cases were reported in the competition, which had started on 20 February.” Pakistan Cricket Board released a media statement on 4th March.

Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United were all set to lock horn in the PSL6 Match 15 on 4th March but due to the sudden rise of COVID-19 cases, it has been postponed till further notice.

Now, when the cricket activity taking place in the world so Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decides to resumes the PSL6.

PSL6 will resume with the match of Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United on 1st June. All the remaining 20 games will be played at National Stadium Karachi. The final of the PSL6 is designed to take place on June 20.

The league stage of the PSL6 will end on June 14, and the playoffs will be held on between June 16-18. PSL6 final will take place on June 20 in the National Stadium Karachi.

“The BoG (Board of Governors) endorsed all recommendations of the fact-finding panel, including robust and stringent implementation of the protocols, as well as maintaining a zero-tolerance approach towards all those who breach the Covid-19 SOPs, which are put in place for safeguarding the health and safety of all participants.” The PCB said after its BoG meeting.

 

“The BoG was informed that as part of the strategy to ensure the HBL PSL 6 resumed and completed in a safe and secure environment, the PCB was in the final stages of appointing a globally recognized safety management company that specializes in providing Covid-safe technology solutions, bio-secure monitoring & management, as well as response and reaction to positive tests.” The PCB said further after its meeting of BoG.

Karachi Kings, defending champion sits at top of the table in the PSL6 with effects of net run-rate. They have won 3 games out of 5.
